I2IDL's Glossary of Digital Learning <https://www.i2idl.org/glossary> started out as an attempt to find commonality among authoritative sources regarding the ways that we define terminology in the learning space. It's led to something perhaps more interesting. Namely, conversations about the power of linked and machine-readable glossaries as shared community resources that can provide not just canonical definitions, but the opportunity for reflection about where agreed upon (or debated) definitions come from.
Conversational Practice
I'd like us to identify the sources needed to build a glossary specific to the culture of SLA and the extended community of EduCon. We'll have a conversation about what matters, why it matters, debate whether any of that matters, and nail down the sources that we can use to create a living glossary. A work product that will come out of the session is the source code of an EduCon glossary.
